In order to qualify for the course at Sensi Borneo, Sabah, Malaysia, divers must be 10 years old for the Junior Open Water Diver program and 15 years old for the Open Water Diver Course. Divers must also have good health, reasonable fitness and be comfortable swimmers to take full advantage of all that the PADI Open Water course that Sensi Borneo has to offer.

In the Open Water Diver Course at Sensi Borneo in Sabah, our PADI Dive Instructor will take you through the basics of learning to dive, this can be done in the pool at Sensi Borneo or pool like conditions in the shallow bays of one of the islands that make Tunku Abdul Marine Park in Kota Kinabalu. You will progress through the open water training gaining background knowledge along the way.

There are 5 Confined Water Dives at Sensi Borneo, after which you will move into 4 Open Water Dives.
PADI courses are performance-based, which means your instructor at Sensi Borneo in Sabah, Malaysia is interested in you learning to dive, not in how long you sit in a class. This means that you progress at your own pace – faster or slower depending upon the time you need to become a confident diver.

There are 5 sessions of knowledge development in this course at Sensi Borneo which can be completed at your own pace; it is also possible to start the knowledge development online before your holiday at Sensi Borneo through PADI eLearning.

Materials that you will receive from Sensi Borneo, Sabah, Malaysia, for the knowledge development section are as follows: PADI Open Water Crew-Pak, PADI Open Water Video or DVD, as well as a log book in which you will record each dive.

The equipment that Sensi Borneo will provide for you is: mask, fins, snorkel, tank, regulator, buoyancy control device (BCD) submersible pressure gauge and wet suit.
