sabah-schoolingfish-scuba-diverWhen visiting Sensi Borneo in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia for a dive holiday, you have many dive locations to choose from. Just outside the Sutera Harbour Marina in Kota Kinabalu lays TARP or Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park that has over 20 dive sites with depths to a maximum of 22 metres making TARP an excellent location for novice divers.
Just a little further up the coast there are 3 World War II wrecks outside Usukan Bay. These dives are to a maximum of 40 metres and are more for the experienced leisure and technical divers. The wrecks are covered in vibrant corals and there is a gentle current that brings an abundance of marine life.
Other dive destinations near to Kota Kinabalu include Palau Tiga, better known as ‘Survivor Island’ from the TV series Survivor as well as the lesser known Palau Mantanani, a tropical paradise with white sandy beaches. Both of these islands have multiple dive sites and are home to a wide variety of coral and boast an abundance of marine life such as turtles, sharks, barracuda, sea snakes, scorpion, frog and stone fish and tiny nudibranchs.
