The Usukan wrecks, near pulau Mantanani

October 14th 1944
USS Dace (Lt.Cdr. B.D. Claggett) torpedoes and sinks the Japanese merchant tankers Eikyo Maru and Nittetsu Maru and damages the merchant ore carrier Taizen Maru  off north Borneo on position 06º05'N, 115º55'E. which is now known as Usukan Bay.

Marine life:
Giant grouper, yellow-tail barracudas,snappers, Skip jack tuna and a Fan- tail ray. The wrecks are densely covered with soft corals and Black coral trees.
